Another staple

Ah Ryan. His head just attracts injury.

This time, he was sitting on Bill's lap and I called him for medicine. He got up, took two steps and tripped head first into the coffee table. Gushing blood, scared boys, the works. The blood subsided but after an hour it was still not closing fully and still slightly bleeding. I took him to the pediatrician and Dr. Helen said he needed a staple.

So off to the ER for a litocaine shot and just one staple this time. Poor Ryan. He is a trooper. He held my hand, tears welling up and says "it really hurts" when they put the needle in. I felt so bad for him. But it was typical Ryan: a quiet, reserved response when other kids would be yelling and screaming.

My Ryan, the tenderheart.

Ice cream? Nope. Ryan got his favorite, french fries, on the way home.
