So it's official. I have a school aged child!
I am sad.
Where did the time go?
All the cliches hold true. The first day is brutal (more on the mom than the kid). It seems like an era has ended and I want it back.
I am nervous about the new era. PTA meetings, parent teacher conferences, less control over his environment, busy schedules, being at the mercy of weekends and school vacation weeks to go anywhere.
Our little piece of the world was nice while it lasted. Now we are bundled into every other school family. Oh well, it had to happen sooner or later!
Andrew was happy. Nervous but happy. He chose his own outfit (a mighty ugly one, I will add). He left happy, came home happy. I'd say it was a successful day!
